Suzy, I have a similar problem area at my house and I planted Rose Campion there. I tried typing up a long speal about it and Dave’s froze up before I could send it, so I lost it.
Basically I thought it was too weedy and threw it to die and I still have a bunch, and it seems to be happy there. Just a thought. : )
Look what I found this morning (even with the neglect of being left crowded in a cup!)
