DonM47 wrote: I was hoping someone from this forum might help me with this question. I planted 10 Red Riding Hood (GR?) tulips last fall. This Spring, April, we decided to move to a location short distance away. I wanted to keep these tulips, so I dug them up when they were approximately 3 inches high, and planted them in a pot. In our new home, I set them in full sun and kept watering faithfully. I did the same with a pot of Daffodils and they continued growing and bloomed beautifully. But my poor tulips grew only a little higher and though the buds formed they only just peaked out from the foliage and then seemed to wither and dry out. Does anyone know what could have happened? No sign of insects and the foliage seems healthy. If I plant them in my new flowerbed after the foliage dies back, do you think they might come back next Spring? Thanks for any advice. Don |
