Every year western kingbirds build a nest on my front porch. This year, the mama bird went all out, building a nest that was twice as tall as usual. DH & I joked that it was a high-rise condo for her babies.

There were originally 3 eggs in the nest; but only one survived. Yesterday morning, I got my first glimpse of the baby, which looks to be pretty big already.
