It was like my own private tour. I bought some things, but also took home plenty of cuttings she obliged me with... They had a massive 'Donna Brigham' passiflora consuming one of their greenhouses, and it was the prettiest passie I've seen to date. Had to get one for myself! They also had a gorgeous distictis(purple), that was eating one of their other greenhouses,lol...one of my favorite plants she introduced me to that day was holmskioldia tettensis, and it is still one of my very favorite plants. Even back then she mentioned the nursery business was a tough one, and that they didn't know how much longer they could keep it up... The PNW is a great place to grow things! It will be such a shock to go from no rain and no winter, to a LOT of rain, and a real winter... I know they will be missed. It was an enchanted place. I just loved her little area with the permanent tea set, set out and the wall that led to nowhere...and that gigantic tree with the surround underneath... This is DB passie |
