heavenscape wrote: Hello lovely ladies! Shar, after finding out you paint well..hmmm...now I'm not too sure about the gift I have for you. So, be patient please... Ves522, we just finished putting up the trellises. Will take pics for you. There are no fruiting vines, and the veges are grown in strawbales this year. Only tomatoes, cayenne peppers and Japanese eggplants. Pic shows I tucked in a few annuals in there too. Liz, hope the weather will soon be kinder to you. Are you almost through with your R,W & B box? I'm thinking of starting the swap earlier. Laura...a brilliant idea on the quilt. I got lots of fabrics and fat quarters that needed to be used up! Will you please let me know whenever you need extras? Bev, I love your viburnum. The blooms are so full. I do have a Blueberry Muffin Viburnum (I think) whose berries will turn blue. But their white blooms are not as lush as yours. My viburnum is only a foot high and suffered last year from a late frost. Jeanine, I cried looking at your Mum....Thanks for sharing those precious moments. My parents died young, in their 50's. Didn't have any closure with neither, as I was here...and they were in Singapore. If I can have a moment returned to me, it would be the moment when I had to say goodbye at the airport..I would hug them longer and tell them they are the best parents this daughter could ever have. Celia, so glad you made your way here. I have a Chihuahua that drinks coffee with me every morning. She'll have exactly 3 tbsp. but one morning she stole some from my cup. Like Amy described, the inevitable happened... ▲Boing ▲ ..boing▲ ..boing ▲ ..►► Crash!!! Cathy and Shar, I love the roses. Am now looking for a fragrant yellow climber that's very disease resistant. Judy, your daughters are gorgeous. Some Kodak moments there. Betty, you have such a beautiful garden. It shows you put in a lot of hours to make sure all your plans come together. Please don't overdo yourself. Interesting that you've discovered Hostas. My favorite is Red October, so called because of it's red stems. The only shade I have is made from my 2 oak trees, and one provide shade for the hostas, while the other, hellebores. If only mailing plants to Canada's allowed, you will get some. Betty, you'll make the best judge. So glad Judy thought of it. I'm sure you won't be easily *ahem* persuaded, not even for the best tea in China!!! Here it comes..latest on me.. Not a very good visit at the doctor's yesterday. The tests showed I have to prick more often and of course more units of insulin. No more choccies, even the dark ones. Good bye to once a week fried chicken (how can I live in the South?)-----------and worse...bye bye rice, which I only have like once a week! (Oh wait...must be those buffets at the Chinese restaurants) I've already given up potatoes and bread. But how can I say less red meat. Sniff..sniff.. I have to.. A good juicy NY strip, medium rare and that heavenly piece of Prime Rib. I know you all will be giving me positive vibes so I can control this killer disease. Will try to check in daily. To those that I've missed...I love you too! Blessings Galore! Jaye |
