Yesterday afternoon hubby and I were driving around looking at houses. We passed a rather wooded area and there was a little bird flitting around. I said, that's a nuthatch. He looked at me strangely and asked me how I knew that. I grinned smugly and said Dave's!

I had the blinds open in my bedroom this afternoon and spotted this red headed woodpecker. I slowly inched my way out of the room and got the camera. Of course, he was gone by the time I returned. I sat on the bed and sure enough, he came back. This is the closest I've gotten to one of these beauties.
