I go there several times a year not just for plants but because they always have neat 'stuff' and also I do dog sports at a nearby arena. A year or so ago a friend and I discovered that they have 3 giant epies hanging in one of the greenhouses. I had never noticed them before because I was not 'into' epies at the time. So after I saw K's request and because I was in the area anyway I dropped in and asked the staff if I could get some cuttings off the mother plant. The staff know me because they do workshops for the Hort Society which I organize. So I asked and she said oh just go take some off one of the small pots ( which were for sale) and handed me a pair of scissors! SO there you have it - 3 nice cuttings of Queen of the Night. Incidentally I was stunned to see when I walked in that the 3 giant mother plants were for sale - $250.00 One is a DK ( pic attached from last year) which is currently in full bloom, one an Oxy and one a NOID red. Still trying to figure out how to get it to my house and where to hang it - an impossible task but still fun idea to play with. |
