I'd like to try the Parma Violets as I believe they can take more heat. Logees Greenhouse used to carry many types of fragrant violets, but their catalogue listing is sparce, to say the least. Maybe another visit to thier greenhouses in Danielson would offer some not shown in the catalogue. I've called them a couple of times about the varieties they used to have, but I think its been a bad season/seasons for them with the violets. Canyon Creek nursery is my best option, I think. Isnt it interesting about the elusive fragrance and our ability to re-smell them within a short time! A pic of one of the fragrant Zone 10 violets. I received it as an exchange from someone who told me these violets had been on his family property for 40 years! |
