Brenda, we must think alike. First of all I have Playful Spectrum as a plantlet I grew from leaf and I have several Blue Lace as babies from leaf. I just saw your Sora Virginia Rose (or whatever her name is and she is magnificent.......I have a baby of her, too from leaves)

i agree with you totally about the older violets. There is a lady only 70 miles from here who grows lots of older varieties and I can't wait until I get to go on the 25th of this month to buy her plants. She also sells leaves and her site I believe is...........just google Jo's Violets and you can find her.

The reason these older plants haven't gotten lost is because they are easier to grow I think. (The business about hybridizers close to your location was just told to me.......i don't know) I do know that I like the older plants better and find them easier to grow.

Now that you have shown Blue Lace and Playful Spectrum I can't wait until they get big enough to bloom. I am having trouble getting your precious Silverglades Oyster plants to bloom at all. They keep growing bigger and bigger but no buds.

Here is one of Jo's oldies but goodies that is at least 13" across. I have emailed Jo to try and find out her name...
