ardesia wrote: OK, here goes. My deck runs the entire length of my home and there are steps on one end and the spigot is on the outside of the house right by the other end. I could run a hose up there but I always had to walk several hundred feet every time I wanted to turn the water on and off. I found out the spigot thingy is actually called a sillcock. Mine is 10" long and I'll drill a hole in the decking and insert the bottom of the sillcock through the hole. I will use a washing machine hose from the existing spigot, feed it through the lattice under the deck and attach it. The outside spigot will be "on" all the time. Thats the reason I am using a washing machine hose as opposed to a short length of regular garden hose because it will be under pressure all the time. The horizontal flange on the sillcock will sit flush with the decking. Hope this helps, I am such a girl at explaining plumbing things. |
