(esp when you haven't had that first cup) We battled with a couple of very nice pricey coffee makers that you could not trust to make coffee without running hot coffee all over the counter and into the drawers and making a total mess. I have now found a coffee maker that I can have on the counter without having a jelly roll pan underneath, just in case. So what is my issue? Well, sometimes the filter (the funnel type is used in this coffee maker) folds over or something and some coffee grounds get into the caraffe. Because I am the one that gets that last cup, I am the one who gets the grounds in my second cup of coffee. Usually it is just a few, not too bad. This doesn't happen very often, but this morning, I took a big gulp of the last of the coffee, only to spit it out. UGH. I had to use floss to get the grounds out of my teeth. So, instead of inventing a filter that you can seal after loading with your favorite coffee, that would take too long. I put coffee into the filter and sewed it shut, with the sewing machine. HA! We make a blend of different coffees, so pre-bought coffee packs are out. Also not everyone likes the same amount of coffee in a filter. So...does this work? Stay tuned to tomarrow. I will let you know. (can't wait to see the hubby's face when he goes to make the coffee and see's the prepacks) |
