I put out a bit of money and bought a black, wire shelf at target for $25. Then I bought 2-three foot long shop lights and then bought the 4 light tubes for them. The price on these blew me away! They were $6,50 each--and did not come in multipacks. 4' tubes are much cheaper! If you have a space--get yourself a shelf that takes 4' shop lights and you will be in business.

Here is my little set-up. If I already posted it--sorry! You really DO need more light than just from a window. I am happy with my set-up, and next year I woun;t have to buy anything.... I have it in my bedroom by a S-facing window. The heat vent is right under the bottom shelf and that is where I kept all my seeded cell packs. When they sprouted, I moved them up under the lights.
