Just a reminder:

Please do not forget that photos and information about Texas native plants can be found on the Texas Native Plants & Wildflowers Picture Directory listed at the top of this forum. Plants that could have been identified from information on these pages have been placed on the Plant Identification Forum. Perhaps people have forgotten about this information source. A lot of work has been done to make this directory available and lots of information can be found here provided by many people. If you are looking for native plants to add to your landscape, it might be useful to check these pages out. Also, do not forget about the Native Plants of Texas Search Engine which can be used to find Texas native plants in the PlantFiles and at other sites. It has a wealth of information. There are 3 ways to search:

By scientific name or comon name
By special groupings - such as shade tolerant plants, drought tolerant plants, best butterfly plants
By plant type - shrubs, trees, vines as well as by color

This site, created by Josephine with phot contributions by many people can be found here:

As an example I had never thought about growing tobacco in my garden until my husband planted some seeds for me in a large container. It is a wonderful plant. Cultivated tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), which is a naturalized Texas native plant, has a beautiful bloom and can serves as an ornamnetal in your landscape. More information about it is on the Texas Gardening: Texas Native Plant Pictures by color ( Pink ) page.
