I just started raising rabbits last fall and have mini rex and holland lops, you can see my bunnies at http://www.daisypatchrabbits.homestead.com My husband made nest boxes for me using a template found here http://www.thenaturetrail.com/BuildingNestBoxes.htm They work really well and were fairly inexpensive. You would have to adjust the size for med/large rabbits but they work great for dwarf and small rabbits. I didn't use fence staples to attach the wire to the bottoms but just regular heavy duty staples in a staple gun...not like you'd use for paper :) The above website also has LOTS of helpful information. I have 2 litters in the nest box, 2 litters just weaned and three does still due to kindle very shortly. Lana Here's some babies in the nest box. Momma makes the nest in the back under the covered part and as they get older and start coming out of the nest they spend more time in the front part of the nest box. |
