I'd rather have any color than bare gardens as she has. So glad you enjoyed the link, too. Isn't it funny how we assumed it was a female? Kattamos is a man - such talent! I loved the winter shot, too. The honesty of the thread made it special to me. Thom - what a joy it is to know I "rock". You made an old broad's day! Thanks for the compliment. Now you have the same inspiration as that thread gave me. Of course your plants are better than the nursery. Their investment is only for selling, yours is for the love of plants and they're responding to you in great style. It's easy to see the results when people love their plants as opposed to those who "dump" a plant in a pot and then complain it doesn't look good or grow like the pictures show. You've also taken the time to learn how the plants grow and what to expect of them. Many people don't do that. Now, if you want to get in just a little bit more trouble with plants try Glassworks House and Rosy Dawn - both for coleus. Some are quite big. They'd add so much to that tropical look and cuttings can be held in fine style over winter, just try your best to avoid an east window. By March 1st they really want an east exposure and so will you or you'll be shocked at the proliferation of aphids. This is important, Thom: when is your birthday? I have a few Rex begonias with astrological signs and hope I have one to match your sign. (That sounds better than the bar scene line of long ago: What's your sign?, doesn't it?) |
