It was wonderful to be together, and he introduced me to lots of cool industry VIPs who i'd never dreamed of meeting - much less having dinner with! We had 6 days together in Vegas. i felt like Cinderella. But it was getting harder to hear the clock strike midnight every time. Something had to change, and we decided to take the leap. He went back to NYC, moved out of his apartment and in with his brother, found a sublet, and in... November 2002: almost exactly a year to the day after the 1st time we met, and 6 months after our first trip together... He flew to STL stayed for 3 days while helping me pack everything we could fit into our total 4 suitcases of checked baggage, and swept me away to live with him in NYC, a city i had never even visited. epilogue: Enchanted A lot can happen in a year. A girl who laughed disdainfully at the idea of romance became a believer. A man who thought he could see the course of his life in a straight line found a few new curves. And all the people who didn't believe in dreams come true have had to think again. This slightly shopworn Cinderella and her extremely charming Prince are still together five years later. And to think, if you add it up, we had spent less than 14 days in each others' physical presence when i ran away with him. "Sometimes you just have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." And they lived happily ever after... (most of the time). |
