The slumber party on Friday night went really well. The girls finally settled down around 2:30 am. On Saturday morning they discovered my craft area. I put a bunch of craft supplies and out and told them to use what they wanted. There were a couple in particular, who spent a long time with their creations. I think that in April or May I might throw a craft party and invite all of the girls from Sonora's class. I really wish that they could have all come to the sleepover. I feel so bad for the ones that aren't included but I'm wise enough to know that 13 nine-year-olds sleeping over would probably make my head explode. The seven that were here were quite enough. I've been taking it easy for the past couple of days. Right now our basement really needs to be organized so that's my next project. I have a really bad clutter problem. I've tried to get rid of things in the past but it's always been so hard to let things go. In the Readers Digest this past month there was an article on getting rid of clutter. One of the things in the article said to ask yourself, "Does this deserve a place in my home?" Since using this tactic I've been able to let go of things a lot more easily. It's much better for me than asking if something is useful or if I still want it, etc. Now, all we need is a place to donate things, I don't want to just throw a lot of it in the garbage. My parents will probably visit on the March break though so I can send some down with her to take to Value Village or something. Laura, I'm so glad that you have gotten medication from your doctor and I hope it works well for you. You are so important to us. (((hugs))) Well there's more that I wanted to say (as usual). I tend to keep up fairly well with reading but then don't have a chance to write a post. Then by the time I get on again, the posts that I was going to respond to are way past or even on the previous thread. I do remember someone (Rachel?) asking if my hoya was fragrant. It didn't seem to be. What is really weird is that I have a hoya carnosa that I got as a cutting almost 11 years ago from my mom's (which is actually her grandmother's). Whenever it flowered for my mom the scent would fill the whole room each evening. Mine flowers way more often but barely has a scent at all. It's too bad because I love the scent. I ordered 8 cuttings from David Liddle last spring. Seven of them rooted (I was a little impatient with the 8th and potted it up too soon). I was quite excited to see my first set of flowers. Now my carnosa has a ton forming. I just love these plants. Hey Betty, a nice hoya carnosa might be good for you. They seem to be very drought resistant (which is why it does well with me). I can root a cutting from mine if you're interested. |
