They are red and thorny and look like rose stems to me (although I've never had a rose bush...just reminds me of the ones I've seen). There is a red "berry," which also looks kind of "rosey" to me, which is red and ages to a brown/rust wrinkled looking thing, orange and stringy on the inside, about 1/2" around. There is only 3 "berries" on this plants...well, were only 3 ~ I stepped on one while taking the picture and that's how I know about the inside. Anyway, I've been through and through and through the book and can't figure it out. I know it's wild because this property has never had anyone living on it...we bought it "wild."
