Robin, Too funny, yes I figure if I share one of the nightmare parts of my yard, I will be just embarrassed enough to have to make it go away. I can't wait to get that part cleaned up. Still not sure what I will do back there, but the old fencing and junk will get removed. Since I did an endless stream water feature on that side of the house this fall this area will become a visually part of that new feature. But no plans beyond cleaning it up at the moment. Here is the spot looking from the house. That old veggie garden mess is behind the pines. This photo was taken last April before I built the stream. It will be fun to see what I can do with this area.

Your rose sounds like it just got spunky and it is wonderful sounding. If it is an explorer series rose it sounds like it might be 'Martin Frobisher', which is on on my wanted list, but I wanted to see it before buying one. If it is, it isn't suppose to get to be a rambler or climber. M.F. is a rugosa type. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/81570/
Maybe that is what Victor has. I was thinking his might be 'old blush' but that is a wild guess.

My mom is a month and day younger than yours. Her birthday is March 12th. We are still taking about the trip. I may bail on her as that is hopefully going to be my major bulb eruption. Instead I could have her meet us in NOL at some point for a few days earlier this spring. After looking at my pictures, Feb or March is a better time. By April 1st, I should just stay home and watch the bulb show. She lives in OK so she could just pop over and meet us in New Orleans. Patti
