It is off the cover of the children's book--"Misty of Chincotigue". Chincotigue is an "island" at the end of "Assetigue Island" in NC. That is where all the wild ponies roam and where they have the Wild Ponies round-up every year. The force them to swim across the channel and then they are auctioned off--wild as they are--to people who take them home and tame them and raise them.
