Rural Gardening: Who raises pigs? Beginner has a few basic questions, 1 by saanansandy

I'll stay next to the feeder so they have to come near me in order to eat. I don't attempt to touch them for the first few days so they don't see me as a threat. Then I will slowly start gently touching them while they are eating. Most pigs will accept this within a short time although I've had a couple over the years that seemed to be just a tad crazy!! Pretty soon they come running when they see you just for a nice scratch! I had one pig that followed me around like a dog!! I'd let her out of her pen and she would follow me around. Sometimes she would wander abit but when I called her she would come running!
