There a several good books on building a full log home, search on Amazon. Biggest issue is with shrinkage - All logs will shrink over time, even kiln dried. If that is the frame of your construction you need to take it into consideration when installing windows, doors, and anything that will be against the ceiling, IE: cabinents. We had some friends who had professionals build their log home package but even then they had things on top of their kitchen cabinets that they'll never be able to remove now that the home has setteled.
