weed_woman wrote: Hi all, TC, its been raining all day, and I think I've missed the window of opportunity for cutting and drying the Artichoke. If I get some seeds from it I'll have a go, otherwise i will get seedlings for next year. I didn't get to my friends place to see how hers look, but hopefully will in a few days. I haven't flower arranged formally, but always cut flowers for indoors. That was my first attempt especially for this thread. I have posted pics of cut flowers in the past, but not so formally arranged. Hi DG, the Lilypily, (Syzigium) is a small tree used for hedging or as a screen. I have them planted along the side and front fences for privacy. They are still young (3 years) and only about 2 metres high. They have a fluffy cream pom pom flower that turns into the berry you saw hanging up. I will get a picture of them when I am out there tomorrow. Hi Karmaplace, yes it is a native. The berries are about 1.5-2cm long. They are still looking ok today, but beginning to lose their lustre and the colour is becoming darker. The hydrangeas were pink last year! I've only added fertiliser (manure pellets), but if you want the blooms blue you add acid (sulphur, or manure pellets) and if you want them pink, add a handful of Lime around the drip line. We use dolomite over here because it has magnesium in it, which is in short supply in Australian soils. Misty, I hope the weather clears for you, that your son heals well and your computer gets a wriggl-on! Bad things come in threes so you've had your lot! So I'll pop in tomorrow Ladies (I assume) have another cappucino or hot chockie on me. |
