These are the pictures I took of what wicking did to one of my hoyas. When my friend goes home I am going to drill the necessary holes in all my baskets and wick them.

Look carefully for the two wicks of #36 poly string (or pantyhose) that I shoved in the drilled holes with a side of a small pair of scissors.
