This is a dramatic but quick and simple to create for the festive season.
Materials
Clear plastic double tray
two blocks coloured foam, red and purple
2/3 Phormium tenax leaves
6 gold cones on long sticks
4 Cornus alba
2 stems holly
7-9 red Gerbera
2 gilded lotus heads
few stems of Equisetum
decorative pins
Method
1. Cut the red foam in half and place either side of the purple foam in the long tray. You will need to soak the foam well, unlike the green foam this foam will take about 15 mins.
2. Pin the Equisetum onto the front of the foam.
3. Place the Phormium leaves in the centre, and then the lovely red Gerberas so that they are facing at slightly different angles.They look much more interesting that way.
4. Position one stem of holly and a few guilded cones at either end of the red foam.
5. Place a lotus seedhead down onto the foam to get a neat finish and cover the stem ends.
6. Insert a few red cornus stems in between the groups to create overall harmony.
