Yesterday I transplanted 22 of them into larget pots. I was amazed they were so easy to grow and how well the adjusted to this crazy climate changes we have been having here in NJ. I decided to do some research to be sure which plant I had. Much to my surprise there are so many differfent species I would not figure out which one this is. I wrote to the place that grew it and sent this picture. I am now waiting to see if they come back with an answer. I did find that many botonists believe that all of the group should be considered belonging to the singel genus Columnea. Then it goes on to say others assigned species to one of five genera--Columnea, Trichantha, Dalbergaria, Pentadenia and Bucinellina. So, I am still trying to decide what I say I have for sale. Nothing is easy... |
