But I can tell you I start with a sharp xacto knife and cut through the plant on top between what look like separate crowns to me (usually just two for me) and then after the initial cut on top dividing the plants I take a big sharp knife and go down through the root ball. Then I plant up in regular light AV potting mix and lightly water. I put them in a bag or in a big salad bowl dome until they get past the shock, a week or two and then they are good to go. I've given several away locally here and they bloom on and look good!
