It had been hung out there, I think from 2004 or so, or even earlier. It has stood the vagaries of weather. I have not painted it at all - it's really crude and rough. I yearned to see some bird at least sit on this. But those sunbirds and tailorbirds always ignored my work of art! LOL. The entry holes suit their size. But yesterday, I was so thrilled to hear a Great Tit in my garden. I rushed to the window to see where it was and lo, it was right there on my art-piece, looking here and there and into the hole. So I rushed out to the door as the window has an insect mesh. Opened it slowly and through the gap, I took a few pictures of it even entering to see what accommodation was available! And to see if it was worth any penny.

My hands must have been shaking in excitement of watching the first occupant - nay - it probably rejected ..... only to inspire me to make a better one! Make I will. Well for now, here are some pictures of the Great Tit and my bird house. I've explained why my pictures here are a bit blurry!!
