I agree with Mainiac on the "better and better". OT's are also a good choice in our climate because of the heat tolerance. You'll find most Orientals burn and the leaves brown and they're not good long-term performers. Most of the Oriental/Trumpet hybrids take it in stride and the stems are green until near frost. They get bigger and more prolific each year. Here are some of my "Silk Road" OT's - I grew these for about 3 years at my last house and transplanted them to our new place last fall. They were about 3 ft tall first year at the old place - and 7 ft when I pulled them...and still got to 6 and a half feet first year here! I think you really should give them a try.
