It's weird too. My birth certificate is an old-style one that's laminated. When I got my passport a few years ago I didn't have any problem. I hope it gets sorted out quickly for you. We've been having a hard time getting Ella's birth certificate. I think it might have something to do with me having her at home without a medical practioner present. We went to the hospital afterward though and filled in the forms. Shar, your tree and decorations are gorgeous. It must be so fun to share the excitement with Ethan. Carol, your lights look so pretty. I finally plugged mine in. (I was lazy last year and didn't take them down.) I love looking outside at the Christmas lights. Things here have been so crazy. I really need a break. I've babysat every day this week. Thursday I had a scare because (just as I had gotten Ella to sleep for a nap) DS thought he should share some of his Hallowe'en candy (an Oh! Henry bar - with peanuts) with the girl I babysit who's allergic to peanuts. Thankfully it's not a severe allergy. I gave her some benadryl and she was fine, however, I still needed to bundle everyone up in case we had to go to the hospital quickly. Then we reviewed the fact that he is not allowed to feed her and if he tries she needs to come get me. On Friday afternoon the school was closed due to low water pressure, which was actually sort of nice. DH has been taking an online course since September. It will be nice because it will move him up to the next pay category but we've been letting things slide around the house because of it. I feel a little guilty because I really pressured him to take the course but it's a lot more work that I had thought it would be. Thankfully, it's done in less than 2 weeks so at least we'll be able to relax before Christmas. We're going away for our 10th anniversary on the 19th so we're both really looking forward to that. Tomorrow we're going to a friend's house for an early Christmas dinner. There will be a few of us there so it should be fun. I love Sundays. It's so nice to have a day without the hustle and bustle of the rest of the week. Hopefully I'll be able to recharge for the coming week. I almost forgot to mention, my Santas are here. I told Sonora that we would make them next Saturday. Since Betty sent three, I think I'll let Ian do one too (with DH's help). Ian keeps saying that he's a chef - it's so cute. We watched Ratatouille last weekend and ever since, he keeps saying that he's going to cook. He helped make spaghetti last night and today he helped cook eggs for supper. He has really started to help out more. He asks to do the dishes and to set the table. I figure that if he's offering, I'll let him. Often his sister will ask to help too which is really nice. I better get to bed now. It's so nice to read everyone's posts even when I'm having trouble taking the time to post myself. Please know that I think of you all very often. I feel very blessed with each of your friendship. This flower volunteered itself in my garden this year. I'm glad I didn't pull it out while weeding. We often find treasures where we don't expect. |
