It was comfortable, it was clean, the breakfast was good and included in the price of the room. Everything else was extra. One night, my grouper dinner with crab sauce cost me $38.00, I can't remember what Gail had but it was around that amount, too. It works out to $69/person times 2 = $138/day, nine meals and snacks a day included plus room service, plus great shows and entertainers and pampering around the clock included in the price. February is 3 months from now. There are ships leaving all the time at that price. If it's too soon, we can look later. It's just that for anyone who has to suffer through winter climate, it cuts the winter in two. I'm just throwing ideas around here. It costs nothing to dream. I get absolutely no rebates of commissions on this. I chose Norwegian Cruise Lines because they have Freestyle cruising. That means that you don't have to buy a whole new wardrobe to travel with them. I don't even pack a sports jacket on NCL. A pair of dress pants, and a golf shirt along with dress shoes is all you need to go to the captain's evening. For ladies, a skirt, slacks and a blouse and you're in business. NCL calls this resort chic and it's a great dress code. It also makes your luggage lighter. We moved here because of my wife's arthritis and because we already owned the condo but I won't deny that being close to the cruise ports is also a definite advantage. We can take the car on Saturday afternoon once in a while, drive either to Miami or Fort Lauderdale and watch the ships sail. We like that. And now, for something completely different: this is a sky vine. I am told it will cover your house completely if you don't keep it in check. Take care, all. Sylvain. |
