I believe they are kikineyou or small flower long vine plants that also come in many colors. Hi Beth! Good morning! I`m going out for a last farewell watering to my plants. It is almost curtains for the garden here but not quite. I still had blooms this morning but the weater is getting to them. I might get a few more blooms and vines I can cut to try and ripen the seeds indoors. Good luck to everybody getting the seeds saved. This is a picture of the dilute Joyce Cobb I rooted for Emma. I cut the vine about a 1/2 inch from a leaf junction and removed the leaves, moistened with water, dipped it in powdered rooting hormone and planted it in fine grained potting soil and water. Then it went in a spot where it could get filtered sunlight and not too much heat. After a week or so it began to grow and I began to move it out gradually into full sun where it is growing normally gaining size like a normal vine. It is setting seeds. I have to say it is easier to gather seeds and also easier to make crosses with the successfully rooted cuttings since they are smaller and singled out. Rooting in water is another way to do this and has already been gone over. Karen |
