Fine seed like Agalinis and Nicotiana have to be sown on the surface of the soil bc they need light to germinate. It is difficult to keep them moist (especially in Texas), .. You have to check them a couple times a day until they germinate. A spray bottle of water on top and deep water around the planting, so the seeds don't wash away or shift too far.
