I started out with hoyas. OK, they grow nice and green in Maine but I have a HARD time getting them to grow fast or to bloom. Depending how I make out with my new gessie addiction, I have come to the hard conclusion that I am going to need some "hanging" space eventually and think I will have to start downsizing beginning with the hoyas. IF I do as well with the gessies in real life as i am in my head already *lol* I am SO excited about this new adventure it's hard to describe. I know for alot of you, you have been growing them a long time but for me it's like discovering a whole new world. I'm simply astonished and amazed the more I read and learn. Because I was able to trade some of my houseplants for some new babies, I get to experience all kinds of new things this winter. Like growing streps from leaves. Or nurturing tiny tiny baby streps or possibly getting a bloom from a nice sized plant. On top of that, I received my very first Episcia stolons. I didn't realize by pictures how beautiful they are in real life. I just want to "pat" them every time I check on them (which is at LEAST twice a day *lol*) I want to thank EVERYONE who has been so kind to me and shared their babies with me. I truly feel welcome here and look forward to being able to share my babies someday soon :) I'm working real hard to make you all proud *lol* Here are my very first Episcia stolons. It has only been 1 day since they moved in but so far they seem to like me OK :) |
