TexasPuddyPrint wrote: Went to Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge and NABA (North American Butterfly Association) Park today. Got to see some not so common butterflies as well as gobs of the usual ones. This Blue-Eyed Sailor was most cooperative. I was able to get the rarely seen dorsal view. The photograph does not do the color justice. It was a metallic lime greenish gold. By the way, this bugger was feeding on scat...so yes, I was hunkered down in the middle of the road taking photographs. There is a seven mile stretch of paved one way road that meanders the through and around the park. The path often covered by overhead tree growth, vines and spanish moss. Lots of critters tend to poop on the road! I was lucky to get the dorsal view without photographing any poo!!! ~ Cat |
