Water Gardening: How to keep pond clean?, 1 by weed_woman

It gets full sunlight from mid morning, because I want the lily's to flower. Unfortunately I don't have a power source nearby and cannot run a pump/filter to keep the water clean, and as the water heats up, lumps of jelly-like Algae float to the surface (some of which we skim off) My thinking is that as the plants grow and cover the surface, there will be less algae, but wondered if anyone out there had an idea that would help the pond stay a bit cleaner untill until they do?
