And for fun, here's another picture of the chrysalis. When I hold up the cage with a lamp behind it, I can see a dark blob inside. I was thinking today I'll release most of the bfs back into the preserve. I want them to be able to find a mate and keep the cycle going. Even if I let them go at my house, the preserve isn't very far as the crow - or butterfly - flies. Still, I'd feel better knowing they're in a place that has friends and host plants. My host plant pawpaws are still tiny seedlings!
