About a year ago I began using a home made beer formula fertilizer on my hoyas and had amazing results with it. Three to four months into its use I heard of another fertilizer that everyone was oohing and aahing over so I thought i'd try it as well. Turned out I didnt have near the results with using the new one as what I was having using the beer formula.

While using the beer formula my gh grown hoyas actively grew all winter long and put on so much new growth that I actually had to braid some of the vines to keep them in check!!! Not only did it make them grow like crazy but it alsom ade the leaves grow larger than they normally would.

I stopped using any fertilizer on my hoyas for about 2 months but have gone back to using the beer formula now. I've been using it for almost a month and a half now and look at the difference in the size of the leaves on this hoya macrophylla variegata.

I noticed that all of my hoyas produced leaves like this while fertilizing them with the home brew. The leaf on the right is an old leaf produced prior to my restarting to use the beer fert. The leaf on the left is a brand new one and all of the new ones that have been produced are this size.
