Thank you Karen, Joseph and Antoinette re my Triple Jamie Lynn Hige.
Won't it be too awesome if that one remains True. Wow!

Beth . . .

I crossed my Solid Purple Flaked Hige last year with a few different I. purpureas.
Actually I crossed a LOT of my Higes.
Solid Purple Flaked x Jamie Lynn and
Solid Purple Flaked x Regular Purple-Flaked Shibori

Of the many that I did cross some of the pods ended up with the Regular seed mix of my Solid Purple Flaked Higes and my Red Higes that I also did a lot of crossing with. One has already showed up that someone else has grown and no telling how many others that just grow MGs for the fun of it that we may or may not ever know about.

Jerry collected most of my Hige seeds last year [scream]. . .
but now he knows to be careful with my marked pods. I always mark my crosses with masking tape because I know the tape won't go anywhere except to the ground if the cross doesn't take - but mainly because I did so many.
I didn't grow them all out this year to see what I ended up with.

This year is another story. I have crossed SO MANY I. purpureas x Higes that I don't know where in the world I will grow them all out next year, so guess I'll have to scatter them throughout Jacksonville. I do have quite a bit of property I can use at the church, plus a few other places as well, and the way those vines grow they need plenty of room.

This year I crossed my 'New Color' Purple-Flaked Shibori with a lot of different Higes.
I crossed very few back to the Higes and need to do more of that now that they are in full bloom. Ron suggested I cross my Regular Jamie Lynn back to the Jamie Lynn Hige.
I have also done quite a bid of crossing with Sunrise Serenade and Split Personality. I did a lot of Hige crossing to the Split Personality Blooms and still want to do a few more.

I am also growing a Dark Purple Hige this year and need to play around with that one a bit too. I thought I might end up with some neat blooms crossing to the Split Personality since it is already a split MG.

I'll have one great selection next year or a huge mess *-*
But, they will be fun to grow out.

Beth, I love your Wedding Bells in the Rain . . .
So much that I'd like to share a couple that I got in the Rain last year.
