I've been trying to stretch the blooming season in my gardens. To that end I started a variety of plants from seed last spring. I didn't think too much about color combinations or size--and some of them have grown much bigger then they were supposed to. Some combinations turned out well, like the cleomes in a variety of whites, pinks and purples mixed with pink sweet peas and purple butterfly bush. Others, like the tithonia and cleomes side by side look pretty garish. The butterflies don't seem to mind though. they are loving the heck out of it!
