Here most do not die in winter which is the main problem. I was visiting another Daver a few weeks ago who lives not far from me and saw a few invasive vines in her yard looking so well behaved. I had long ago had to yank them from my yard. Her secret was that she gets just enough frost in the winter to kill them to the ground and then they come back in spring. So she only gets 1 season's growth which is so manageable. I had not realized till then what a plus that could be. I am by the San Francisco Bay so I get much less frost.
