Thanks Jackie, Skimper, Emma, and Karen on the nice compliments for my "unknown" MG vine.

After looking at Joanne's Sunrise Serenade, I do think that you are correct Emma ..... that my vine is NOT a SS but instead a Feathered variety of some kind. And it is a rosy pink, not red color. (The color in my photo is showing the color that I see with my eyes.)

Someone here had posted how the MG blooms were comparable to roses. (Though the post is now gone.) When I saw the feathered blooms, that was the first thing that popped into my head ..... small rose blooms! LOL!

Ronnie - I just have to tell you that this one is amazing!!! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=3899412 I think everyone here concurs about it's unique colors and patterns! Really BEAUTIFUL!!!!

In truth, I would have a very hard time picking a favorite. They are all truly lovely! It's exciting to see what is blooming each day on this thread.

The rodents didn't destroy every single vine as I had feared as I saw several blooms this morning, but can't get close enough for decent photos. The vines seem to like the partial shade of my over-grown garden beds. It's like a hot sauna in my yard currently. (Thank goodness for A/C in the house!)

Here is a photo of what I believe is Akatsuki no Umi. Blooms seem to be smaller than usual. It is now in partial shade. Would that make the blooms smaller or is it a fertilizer issue?
