Admittedly, the 1st year probably is oft the best but I'm content if each of my two pots throw up one flowering scape apiece. The tuberoses pictured have been in their present pots now for several years and have about outgrown their abodes. Before being placed outside in the spring I try to refresh the soil by loosening the soil on top and dumping it and then replacing that with fresh potting mix. During the growing season I fertilize them fairly often.
