What started the whole thing was Ric did a beautiful arrangement for Heather's grandmother, my aunt, with Dahlias from the yard. Heather always remembered how beautiful it was and when she was planing her wedding she came to us and asked about the flowers. She had the cakes made and Ric did the toppers and a small bouquet for Heather to throw. We used 12 in clear plastic pot saucers to hold the arrangements, it worked very well you couldn't see them at all when Ric was done, so it looked like the flowers were sitting right on top of the cakes. They were pretty big cakes, too. When ever I think of Dahlias I remember those cakes. One of these years I'll have to grow them again. Canna, I think this is Crimson Beauty. |
