beckygardener wrote: Hi y'all. Thanks for all the well wishes for Bailey. He's hanging in there. Back to the vet today. More pills and blood work. He's a good little boy and has taking it all in stride. (Though the stress of the vets wears him out afterwards. I don't like doctors either.) Terry - Sorry to hear about your beloved Cricket. You are correct about everything you said. I have been told he may have to go on Lasix when the fluid starts collecting in his lungs. And yes, the coughing is caused from the enlarged heart pressing against his esophagus. So far he's hanging in there. That's encouraging that your dog went on to live 3 more years after being diagnosed. I don't know if Bailey has that long, but I'll take any time extension I can get. I love him. He's a sweetie and a part of our family. Raised him along with my daughter. Donna - My favorite cat lived to be 19 years old. She was the sweetest thing. She had kidney failure and finally had to be put down. Very hard. Glad to hear yours is still acting pretty spry! Cat - Sorry to hear about your Tazzy. Glad to hear you adopted two more dogs since. I plan to always have a pet. But don't look forward to the day when I lose them. Such a tough situation when it comes to that. I hate to see any living thing suffer. Here's a photo when Bailey was a pup and my daughter was about 4 years old. They were so cute together! |
