I had already taken several close-up pictures of a Daucus carota, growing at the border of a pasture with woodland before I noticed this spider on top of the bloom as it was so well camouflaged merging with its background making it almost invisible.
As if it was aware of me having discovered its presence it quickly moved to the underside of the flower, where I managed to take some pictures of it. It looks very similar to the one in my insect book Misumena vatia, only it doesn't has the reddish side stripes on its sides, just a couple of dark dots on its back. The ones in the bug files are also different. Perhaps variability is common in the specie ?
