UniQueTreasures wrote: From the sounds of it, you saw a Tropicanna. Those are like gold around here. The leaves are gorgeous and the blooms are pretty too. I bought one this year. They had been about $35. They had split a pot into 3 and I gave $12 for it. Cannas will get away from you if you aren't careful about them. We started with ONE canna about 15 years ago. It has red leaves and red blooms. Not the big showy blooms, but smaller blooms. Now I have several "stands" of them. They pop up wherever the heck they feel like it. They go to seed, so if any seeds fall, they sprout up a new plant. If you dig them up, you had better use a bulldozer because next spring, more WILL come up!!! Sometimes you don't even have to wait until next spring. I've had them come up in many pots when I know for sure I didn't plant them there. I have several varieties of them now. I love them, so don't get me wrong about them. And please don't let me talk you out of the. That isn't my intention for telling you all of this. They are really beautiful plants and definitely are worth the money. :-) Just be REAL sure you want them "wherever" you decide to plant them (it). Cuz there ain't no going back! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Might as well rescue some more of those zinnias while you are at it. :-) Janet You can see how tall mine get in this photo. This was June last year. They got even taller before summer was over. |
