I first plant them in a nursery about 8 inches apart, then move them in early Spring while still dormant. They get 24 - 30 inches tall and wide with 6 - 9 inch flowers in August - September. Rich, well drained soil and a little more water than average. Full sun. Mulch with leaves or something for the winter. You may loose 20% the first winter, those that survive will likely live for many years.
