I think eventually, yes, we'll go with bigger planters, though I am Really Picky (probably Really Too Picky) about finding the right ones. And we have an issue of opportunity theft here, so I have to be careful to find Right Ones that won't break the bank if they are stolen. As a point of transition while looking for something wonderful, I painted the (reproduction) ca. 1924 planters the pale yellow of the trim and replanted them, adding a couple of Geoff Wolff flowerpots on one side -- I'm partial to asymmetry for entryways.

Anyway, though this shot barely shows it, the planters contain coleus, hibiscus, mint, impatiens, pursulane, million bells, and varigated sweet potato vine. I look forward to the plants filling out in order to give the planters a more established, lush look. Right now they look pretty young. :-)
