I had been waiting too long after they emerged. If you wait until they start fluttering, they will fly away as soon as they see open sky. I was able to get this one to open his wings by gently touching one of its legs with a twig. After I took a few pics, I was able to get it to climb on the twig. Then I transferred it to a zinnia for some more pics.
